Course details:

 

A one day fun and interactive course which focuses on real life classroom based CPD for Early Years Foundation Stage teachers and teaching assistants.

 

Course contents include:

  • Understanding the benefits of participatory learning techniques.

  • Strategies and methods to deliver teaching sessions, ensuring maximum levels of engagement and attainment are achieved.

  • How to use multi-sensory teaching techniques to stimulate learning on multiple levels – helping the brain to link as many memories together as possible to understand and retain information.

  • Strategies to encourage speech and language development within a whole class setting.

  • Strategies to help build listening skills, confidence and self-esteem across a diverse set of personalities.

  • How to help children to create stories using the WAW Story Hand method to improve speech and language, help build relationships and prepare for KS1 literacy.

  • Putting the fun back into teaching by providing opportunities for teachers to develop and showcase their own creativity and review the extraordinarily crucial role they play in the lives and futures of the young people they are educating today.

 

A resource pack to accompany the course is available for delegates upon completion of the course.

Working with teachers and parents to support current practice inside and outside of school for EY, KS1 & KS2 literacy.

  • A shared understanding of the importance of speech and language development.

  • A legacy of learning and literacy toolkit for each participant.

  • A set of positive stories created and illustrated by children and adults to be showcased in school at a celebration assembly.

  • A journal created by parents/carers which documents their journey, highlights   achievements and provides valuable evidence of good practice for Ofsted.
